Power window/felt questions

I happen to get some new felt from a buddy that turned the truck he had into a dragster. It's in great shape but I have now idea on how to install/remove this stuff. Also I've got the setup to convert the windows to power and the locks as well. I'm not too concerned with the locks right now but if I'm replacing the felt I'd like to install the new window setup as well. Anybody got instructions on doing this?

Re: Power window/felt questions

Brandon,
You have to remove the door panel to get the inner felts off. They are latched on. Once you flip them over you can see how the are removed. On the door, just grab it an pull up on it. I have some pictures of when I removed mine if you email me at webmaster@73-87chevytrucks.com I can send you the pics location as I am not finished writing the article..

Re: Power window/felt questions

If it is the felt for the frame of the door (the one that runs from the vent window bracket around the frame and down into the door) It can be removed by pulling it down from the door at the vent window bracket and then slid up from the door interior. The new can be re-installed the same way. Note where the retainers are on the old one and align it properly. Use some "Silicone spray Lubricant" to assist.

Re: Power window/felt questions

Here's a write up from Custom Classic Trucks that I found a while back. Seems to be really good instructions on how to replace the felt weatherstriping. (I say Seems because I have no yet done this myself, but am looking to do so in the future)
