16" wheels on 1 ton

Is anyone running 16" wheels on a 1 ton chevy? I put a set of 16 x 10's on to see how they fit and the stick on weights on the inside of the wheel hit the caliper on the front axle. It seems to be a very very tight fit because the weights only stick up about 1/8" not much room for clearance in my opinion.

Maybe this is why 16.5" wheels are used by the factory??

Too much backspace. I've parted many a 1 ton and most had 16s.

Re: 16" wheels on 1 ton

Ive used 16" wheels on all of my 1 tons. Weld wheels, eagle wheels, had no problems at all. Are they aluminum wheels? If so then maybe their thicker than other wheel manufactures wheels.
