Air intake kits

I bought a Fram Boost air intake kit and installed it on my truck Sunday morning.
I notice that when it is idling in nuetral if I tap the gas ever so slightly it takes a split second for it to respond. Before it started revving imediately.
It also seems to stumble ever so slightly at the beginning of the rpm range.
I checked all my connections to make sure there was no leaks and all the hose clamps are tight.
Do I need to get it reprogrammed to compensate for the air intake kit? Should I need to have it reprogrammed?
Any ideas?

Re: Air intake kits

I know this sounds crazy but, I put an AEM bruteforce on my truck and it kind of did the same thing. After driving it for a couple of days it stopped. It was like the ECM had to learn what the intake was doing. I have had mine for almost 2 years now and Iv'e never experienced the problem again.

Re: Air intake kits

your computer needs to adjust. but if your new filter is oiled like my new k&n was, youll need to clean your mass air flow sensor. get a can of mass airflow cleaner from your local parts house. take it off the truck and spray it a couple times let it dry off and reinstall should help it out some. if it doesnt let up in a few days clean the maf
