Re: Oringinal Miles!!

looks like a pretty typical ebay deal a poor inaccurate description of a salvage vehicle with a seller expecting collector car money

Re: Oringinal Miles!!

What really peeves me is this hurts legitimatized sales of classics, true most
of us would not fall for this one, but think about how many uneducated ones
will. I wish there was a way to teach everything on this board to everybody
out there so that when they were preparing to buy something they would be
one up on all of the freaking idiots out there just trying to screw them over.

It's possible, my dad's one owner 69 K10 has 55,000 original miles (+300,000) with a fresh rebuild on the engine at 75,000 (+100,000).

Re: Oringinal Miles!!

I have never bought anything through ebay. If I found something I really needed I might give it a go but for any considerable amount of money, as in buying a vehicle, I'll have to see it for myself before purchase. My idea of decent and ready to go and the sellers idea of decent and ready to go may be thousands of dollars apart! Buyer beware, always.

Re: Oringinal Miles!!

My truck looked worse than that after 70,000 miles. And I know its accurate. Depends on where it was, how it was used or abused, where it sat or was stored, etc. Don't be so quick to judge.

It actually looks like a fair description and it's not in that bad of shape. The normal rust areas, mostly original. Starting at $500, hell, I'd bid on it.

True, my dad bought his truck new and has been in Arizona all its life except 4 years in Tampa FL which really took its toll as rust is popping out all over. It still looks better than the one I bought in Alabama which has a lot less miles. Funny even moving back to Arizona didn't stop the rust process, guess once it starts it never ends.

Re: Oringinal Miles!!

Just because it has low miles doesnt mean it was cared for.

We have a 2000 Chevy truck at work with 19K miles that is far worse than that truck. Its never been washed, I'm not even sure the oil has ever been changed in it. The interior is completely shot from leaving the windows downin all kinds of weather.

Re: Oringinal Miles!!

wow thats in the town i live in, i havent seen it for sale locally, and im constantly looking for stuff like that. i will say, hays ks is a rural farm town, so 70,000 cow pasture miles is damn hard on a truck. anyway, if his reserve is more than 1000 its too much around here, my truck was $250 no ps or ac and more rust, but people around here think of those as cow trucks, and wont pay much for 'em
