Smoothie Bumper?
Anyone know of a front bumper for our trucks that doesnt have a lisc plate boss and or has the mounting bolts shaved?
I REALLY dont want to have to section the bumper but damn... Shaving the bolts isnt much of a deal, but I was thinking about shaving the bumper, narrowing it a bit and radiusing the corners to make it hug the body, but I would rather start as far along as I can! Thanks!

 but i dont know of any bumpers without the plate boss, would look cool though

Yeah... Heres the deal with custom...
I fabricate custom all day every day, 300 days a year... So there isnt a lot of time for me to get all the bits done for my own stuff... But it pays the bills>> Any time I have to spend fabricating something for myself, it costs me twice as much ($100 an hour billable plus $100 an hour lost time) So if someone else has already made close to what I want, its cheaper and easier for me to buy it than build it... Ya know? There arent any snow days in So cal!

I've seen it done on the show Trucks, when Stacy David was the host.
He cut off the heads of the bumper bolts just above the square. Then he weld the bolt to a washer and weld the washer inside the bumper with square flush with the bumper. Dont remember exact steps, its been a while, but I think he added some welds to the top of the square, then air sanded it smooth. Something to that effect. |

if you use a 1960 to 1966 bumper flip it upside down it has almost identical lines and no boss for lisence plate all that is needed is very slight mounting mods alot easier than sectioning a 1967 to 1972 bumper though check it out

Yeah CA is a two plate state, but Blue Dots are illegal too, and they are in the headlights and tail lights! Hell they require marker lights too, but those are welded shut! oooops! Will
