1968 Chevy 1/2 ton towing capacity

I have a 68 c10 with a 350, and 4 speed tranny, what is the towing capacity on these? I'm not sure what gears it has, is there anyway to check?

you'll need that info to determine what your towing capacity is.

Really? Seems like brakes and springs would determine towing capacity.

Re: 1968 Chevy 1/2 ton towing capacity

Think of it this way,you may have the biggest brakes in the world and 1 ton springs but your truck and 3:08 gears wont tow a trailer up a steep hill.Need lower gears to tow.Atleast 3:73s IMO,maybe 4:10

I swiped these off the board a couple of months ago. Once you know your ratio, I'll tell you how much trailer you can haul. I know they are a little hard to read, but if you squint you can make it out
