Re: How heavy is a double wall top?

Back in my younger days I and One of my friends did it every summer, In my old age now 3 or 4 people would be easy. Its very heavy at the back which makes it a little awkward

Re: How heavy is a double wall top?

Yes two people can lift it of. Probably weighs in around 200 lbs. But have a little hint for you. After you get the bolts all out, slide it back on the bed rails till you can get to the last bolt hole on each side. then take a piece of angle ( I used a piece from a bed frame) and drill it to match the last set of holes. Bolt that on before you pick the top off if you don't want to crack it in the middle seam. I have a 72 that came with a double wall top when new.(I ordered it in late 71)
