Gas Tank Questions???

I want to move my gas tank. I have seen the kits you can buy from different venders, and I know we can use suburban and blazer tanks. What I would like to do is put a bigger tank in. like a 25 or 35 gal tank, is this possible? Has anyone on here done this? What is the biggest tank we can go with? I would like to find one out of a tahao or new suburban. will these work? Would like to hear from someone that has got a big gas tank like this, and what all modifications you had to go through to get it in place and working.

I just had one made by a custom aluminum boat builder here in Louisiana. This one is 21 gallon. I needed baffles and to be able to mount a 94 camaro fuel injection pump and sending unit, so the blaze tank was out of the question. They made it to my dimensions, and I think it looks prett good. $215.

Don't know about the Tahoe tanks fitting our trucks, but My Tahoe has a 31 gal tank. The replacement fuel pump for it was 325.00 at the dealer. The 2 fuel lines I bent when dropping the tank were 171.00 special order from the dealer.
The problem with older Suburban tanks, as I understand it, is they hang Very Low in the rear of our trucks.

Not sure if the guy who put this ad in the paper knows what he is talking about but he is advertising a 40 gallon tank. Says its for a 67-72 suburban or blazer. So it may be possible to do it.

Tanks

Currently my truck is using a 31 gallon tank out of a '79 Blazer (with shield) and it works fine (I got tired of stopping at every gas station on my route to work)

As with the 25 gallon (much more common) tank, it will drop in with the crossmember moved as the only difference is depth. (In other words, you or someone you know well will need to be good with a welder). The problem with the tank is that you most likely should get some sort of shield for the tank, these were a factory option on many 4wheel drive trucks from '73-'89 (I think). Oh, and lowering it very much is pretty much out of the question.

A word of advice, remove the bed as it is near impossible to get one of those monstrosities into there with the bed on.

Heres a 41 gal Burb tank in a SWB. By the time I was done bashing, uh I mean massaging, it, it will only hold 35 gals now.
