Re: Ever Seen one of these?

Yes, it is a legitimate picture and a legitimate question, I am curious if anyone has ever seen this; if its a one off custom or something like the Centurion 4-door Broncos.

Re: Ever Seen one of these?

Something else I ran across while looking for some info was this. Feel free to post it where ever you wpould deem it useable. It has wiring diagrams, sales literature, etc. It covers, Blazers, Suburbans, trucks, and Jimmy's. Pretty good site. http://brochures.slosh.com/

Re: Ever Seen one of these?

It's an airport limo alright. I just havent seen one of the 89-91 vintage. Very hard to come by. From what I've read, they were all done by an outside coachbuilder. Not original GM. Keep this in mind though, Airport limos go way back. I've seen pictures of early 40's cars stretched out with 4 doors per side. Last year while on a tour of hot rod shops in Pheonix we saw a lead slead 49 Merc Airport limo under the knife to get it's roof lowered. 55-57 Chevy sedans got the treatment too.

Cool stuff for sure.

Re: Ever Seen one of these?

The strangest I've seen is a Checker Cab Conversion that belonged to the local convalescent home. it was really long. I'm thinking in the range of 6 doors per side.

Re: Ever Seen one of these?

The local shriner's club has one. They have a go-kart platform that allows them to ride the carts up and over the vehicle. They use it in parades.

Re: Ever Seen one of these?

Those are so cool, here is an old ad for them from back in the 60's. I had never seen the 81-91 version tho, they are really neat. I have heard that air ports and national parks had them the most but wouldn't sell them to the public in state auctions because they we considered dangerous for street use.
