In the future I'd like to get new doors and new hinges. but in the mean time it appears that the pin (at least the top hinge) would be difficult to remove without cutting it as you move it up.

I'm thinking of doing just that but not sure if it will work to try to put some aftermarket pins in their place, somting in the "help" section at the parts stores.

am I correct to assume that these hinges are meant to be replaced as a whole?

it's getting to the point that i'm slamming the door alot to get it to close.

You will need to remove the door from the truck and also the hinges from the doors. Some pins will come out easily while others can be pretty stubborn. Remove them and clamp them in a vise to drive the pin out and replace the bushings. I'm sure you'd prefer to leave the door on the truck, but you'll have to re-align it anyway. Good Luck !!

would it help to use a marker or somthing to trace the location....or am i totally gonna' have to start from scratch?

Yes, i'd mark the hinge location both on the door and also on the door pillar. This should have you pretty close, unless..... someone has already made adjustments to compensate for worn pins/bushings.

On a side note... Where in Mississippi are you located ?

Drill a small hole thru hinge into door. When you put door back on just stick the bit into hole and tighten the bolts. Buy new striker plates and use these to align door as they adlust up and down and in and out. (if yours are worn out)

i bought new bushing and pins for all 4 hinges for my 69 from lmc, you will see a big difference with new bushing, mine had plastic bushing for some reason, the kit from lmc had brass bushing, the hinges are tight and not sloppy like before.
