Back from the paint shop today!

I had the green metallic repainted, she was showing signs of 7 years of daily driving big time. The white needs to be done also but that's later. They did a decent job, looks pretty good.

Your truck has always been one of my favs...seems like you tried to sell it quite awhile back, wish I had the scratch back then.

Re: Back from the paint shop today!

Thanks guys. Looks good in the pics but there's many small blemishes. The paint shop scratched up the outter grille, there's a small amount of green overspray on the white in one spot, they removed the door edge molding and it's all rough there now, the tape they used messes up the tailgate band a little, the spring that pops the hood open is missing and worst of all they missed a few spots in the bed that needed to be sanded down before painting and just painted over old paint that was peeling up. I'm going over there today to have a talk with the owner.

That looks really nice. How much did that cost you? I have been thinking about getting mine repainted.

Glad to hear that things are picking up. Where are the do not enter signs located? Try to hook up again soon!

Re: Back from the paint shop today!

dion, very nice. i see NOS door edge guards on ebay decently regular, you might keep an eye out, mine weren't all that high, i don't remember exact. sorry to hear about the foul-ups. that looks like a new grill, so i would be highly upset over that, even if it's not gm, repops are still high. hope the owner takes care of everything for you.

Re: Back from the paint shop today!

so my neighbor and her boyfriend pop their heads over the fence yesterday with dread on their faces and tell me how sorry they are over and over and that the boyfriend just hit my truck trying to park. I thought it was a joke, but it was not. Turned out not to be too much damage. The bumper is tweaked and the molding is trashed. There's a bad scuff on the white and the outer grille. The guy felt so bad (he knows how I am about my trucks) that I almost felt sorry for him.

Man that is one hell of an attitude. All of us would be better off if we could handle that situation like you did. I would have prob gone ape sh*t. Getting older and having kids has helped a bunch.

To tell the truth I'm a little surprised myself but there's no real body damage and the scuff can be buffed out. He's just a kid really and he somehow came up with $200 cash to replace the bumper. The fact that he even acknowledged how important the truck was to me was impressive. He also knew it just came back from the paint shop the day before. Most of the people around here are disrespectful idiots. I knew he couldn't afford it so I told him to keep the money and just get me a 12 pack.
