Let me know what you Guys/Gals think of this one. It's close to home so I think I'm going to take a look at it in person. Something seems fishy with the winning bidder though...He/she hails from the same home town...might be the same person for all I know.

From the VIN it appears to be originally a inline six.
No air, Manual drum Brakes, No p/s,No chrome looks like everything that could have been painted (resale)red was.

If it is close to your home have a look.

If someone you know bids on your item then it is like you never sold it.

i wouldnt trust that guy, out of three of the ebay ids i ran down, three were all from hsi town, i didnt read the auctions, but i bet they are all the same guy, or one of his buddies trying ot bid it up. screw him!

It looks kinda like shill bidding to me. Both the high bidder and seller have feedback for each other's auctions. It's hard to tell for sure. It sure looks suspicious on a higher-priced item.

We had a similar auction get posted on here a few months ago. That was more obvious shill bidding. Someone notified ebay about it and they said they started an investigation. I checked to see if that same seller was still doing business on ebay a month or so after that and he still was.

It's hard to say what's under that cheap paint-job. The only thing that truck has going for it is the SW Bed.

Something smells...let his buddies buy it and then he can continue to pay the commission...go have a look though. I'll bet it is tired and the replacement engine probably has 100k on it too! Check the compression if you are serious about it.

Look close, everything is red including the door jam rubber. Under the hood hasn't been touched. Looks like a "paint quickly and sell".

Yeah, looks like he got some hardware to throw on there (mirrors), and painted the crap out of it. Engine looks like the '80 350 in my truck when I got it. Never rebuilt just pulled out of another truck and dropped in.

Terrible interior shot. I can't tell anything by that photo. Beware.

Well....if you take a close look at the seat belt, it is red as well. Looks like a rattle can spray job on the entire vehicle. there is a lot of overspray. The back top corners of the firewall (behind the hood hinges) Doesn't look like 'minor' body rust....looks like straight up rusty 30+year old add on air vents.
I did notice that the door seals are red too. I would take a good personal look at it before buying. the moter mount on the drivers side looks to be missing bolts. Looks like a superb hack job on the engine bay wireing. Its your call hom-bre!!!
If you are close, take a good look.

I wonder why the trim around the rear lights are the later 69-72 style? There are speaker holes in the doors too.

I just love ripping apart ebay auctions that are way too "glowing" in their description.

Hmm...yeah, the more I look at the pics the more I DON'T like it. You have to be suspicious of someone who uses 14 ga. wire nuts to splice circuits together. There's also lots of circuits that have been destroyed. Check out my detective work:

That engine bay is scary. It almost looks like there was a fire or something at one time. All that black spray paint on the firewall really dogs it down.

Look at the passenger side picture. The bed panels look pretty wavy like there's bondo on them or something.

If that were a long bed it would be about a $300-$500 truck around here even with the "rebuilt" engine.

Well you guys found a few things that I didn't see but not many...thanks for all the input. I have an appointment to see the truck on Saturday. I'm not too concerned about the wiring and all the overspray and stuff. I have bigger plans for the truck. If the body and the frame look good then I will consider it. I'm going to mention to him about the shill bidding and I did report it to eBay. No response yet. First I'll see what the truck looks like though.
I will be putting a different cab and running gear on the truck..all I need is a good frame, title, bed, and that good looking front end.

I hope it's better than it looks in the pictures Vince. It's really hard to tell using only internet pictures. Let us know what your impression is when you see it in person. If it's been a Florida truck all its life it could be more solid than it appears.

If you are actually looking to buy it I wouldnt really mention the reporting it to Ebay thing to him. Maybe that you saw it on ebay but telling him you narked him out is just likely to piss him off and thats always the basis of a poor car buying experience . JMHO.

Rust holes in the fire wall over the fuse box harness, cut wires off fuse box, alt on wrong side of engine, cut and tape wires from battery, fuel line all twisted in an odd way...
looks liek a hack job to me. Kinda like mine!

Look at it this way . If it was originally a 6 cyl truck then the motor placement would be back farther then original so going with the long water pump and accesories would be a good idea to bring the fan back to the proper position. I had to do it to get the fan into my shroud because of the motor being set back in big block position.

Other than that his paint job looks like crap and whats up with that engine compartment paint. Good God!

You just have to be careful, I was lucky enough to find a solid 1969 on EBAY, I sent several Emails to the seller, and had a good idea what to expect before making the purchase, In fact after seeing the truck It was better than what I expected. The only thing I had to do was replace the tires, and do a brake job and she was good to go, attached is a picture from the Ebay Auction.
