How to tell a 68 Anniversary apart from others?

I know this has been covered before but I didn't print out any of the info. I know the 68 anniversary color was gold and the interior color parchment...is there anything else and how 'bout the options codes. Might have found one but it's been painted red. If anyone followed my other post on the eBay '68 it was pure trash....saw another one on the drive home and stopped to look at it and the exterior was red but the dash was gold. It had the parchment interior along with Custom emblem on the door and the chrome package. Just cuious but the price was inviting.

The paint code on the glove box door reads 551 for the paint code. That is the annv. code.

This was posted in a earlier post by 68 Suburban and describes the 50th anniversary from the 1968 Salesmens Data Book:

The most important part of the 50th package will be the 551 (Ivory White/Gold) paint code.

Pickups and Sports Vans will have a gold and parchment interior 625.

Suburbans and Panels will have fawn interiors.

The pickups, burbs and panels will have chrome bumpers and the side trim option. Not sure about Sports Vans

Pickups two-tone paint job will include that Ivory roof and Ivory on the bottom of the truck, as well as the grill.

Burbs and Panels will only have the Ivory on the roof and the grill.

It will at least be a "custom”. It could be a CST. Fine69 has a rare CST 3/4 ton 50th.

Any engine could be had, but most that I have seen have the 327.

I did not have to be a loaded vehicle.

All the information about was deciphered from the 1968 Chevrolet Salesman’s Data Book.

I guess that chrome bumper thing isnt written in stone though. Had the original big block/ CR 4 speed in it when I got it. Did I mention I paid $500

Hmmm, interesting. I didn't know Chevy made a anniversary model that year. If so, I have one sitting in my driveway only it is a custom driver. The cab inside is gold and I replaced the glove box door but kept the old one because it told the options the truck came with. The cab roof was white when I bought years ago but now it is primered to match the rest of the truck. I haven't weld up any holes on the bed or doors where the molding use to be but it did have part of the lower molding when I got it. Took it off because it was beaten up. I have thought of replaceing the molding but on the cab under the rear window some of the nipples that holds the small molding that separates the two tone paint are gone. Don't if they can be replaced or not. But like I said it is a custom and down in the weeds. The squirrels get pretty nervous when they see me coming.

This is a pretty good pic of what a 50th originally looked like.
