Re: Front drive shaft!!

How much spline is left in the slip yoke??? If it's less than half...which it probably is...you'll need to hit the junk yards for a longer model, and cut/weld it to size. Your shorter one can be sent to me!!!

Re: Front drive shaft!!

I put a 6 inch lift on a blazer and have had no front drive shaft issues at all. I wheel the heck out of it and not one problem. You could also look into dropping your crossmember that could be enough.

Re: Front drive shaft!!

Same here..4" lift should be fine with stock drive shaft. With a 6" lift the stock driveshaft should work, but it may not extend out that much.Having the stock one lengthened shouldn't cost that much.I don't know what models interchange that have a longer front driveshaft..

Re: Front drive shaft!!

I would still take it to a driveline shop and have it balanced. It doesn't take much to cause a vibration, which at the very least is hard on seals/bearings.

Re: Front drive shaft!!

I had rear driveshaft shortened, balanced and new U-joints installed and it was only $115.00. They sprayed some kind if stuff looks like a bunch of bumps on it to get it balanced right. They also welded wieghts on(or kept original) to balance.
