I wanna hide the ugly heater box - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Got my firewall stripped down pretty much and looking to clean it up a bit more by relocating the big old ugly heater box to maybe under the dash so I can smooth the heater holes.

I've seen this from jegs, but don't know what all is needed to make it work with the factory heater control panel for temp setting and fan speed. Anybody have any insight on this or done something similar? I'm open to ideas.

Here's my firewall, almost completely stripped. I have since filled a bunch of holes on the firewall and will be routing a Painless wiring kit.

I believe that Old Air sells a system that uses all of the factory controls that mounts under the dash. I know that they make a heater and A/C conversion kit that mounts under the dash where you can't see it. WES

I closed off my firewall on my 67.I used a heater off of a forklift.They are small I put it where the glovebox goes and ran the hose out the side thru the vent.I plan to run the hose along the fender and then to the motor.I got a new computer for christmas so all my pics are on the old one.

I'm currently having the same dilemma. I want to use an electric heater of some sort. I want to hide it under the dash and run the defrosters from it. I have been trying to come up wit hsomething, but I'm having a hard time.

I have their heater system in my 72 for defrost and floor usage, I think it looks and works great!

THE VINTAGE A/C HEATER SYSTEM WORKS GREAT. I CUT THE HOLES IN THE DASH FOR THE A/C VENTS. ALL ACC WORK. LOOKS VERY PROFESSIONAL. I THINK ITS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!!!

I also would like to do the same. I only want defrost + floor heating.

Dude, you live in Florida, do you really need a heater, just shave the firewall and call it good.

Actually I'm planning on doing the whole vintage air thing too as soon as I get an extra thousand bucks, but for now its gonna be nice and clean.

has anybody thought of using a small oil cooler. and custom building a cabinet to hide? I am kicking this idea around and the use of butterfly type fans.

I was looking at the Mojave unit, I was wondering if it uses the factory heater controls or not.
