What wheels/tires

well the 4x4 is almost ready to run and I need to start thinking of what tires and wheels to run. I'll be running 4" of lift on a K10 and was thinking 33/12.50-16's... I want either polished aluminums, or even the teflon or black would look good with my color. The truck is gonna be a daily driver but not a hard core off roading machine. I like the new BFG Mud terrains and even the ATZ's... post some pics of what you're running and how you like 'em. Thanks a ton!

Re: What wheels/tires

do you like to polish chrome? I'm not a big fan of the "bling-bling" rims... MT Classic II's on my K-10 w/ BFG AT's. The dark look isn't bad either... These look coll IMHO...

Re: What wheels/tires

I really, really like the one that msgross has singled out.

The tread on the BF mud terrain looks pretty street friendly. If you aren't going to be using the truck off road do give consideration to the all terrains - they will wear a bit better and maybe give slightly better mileage.

Whatever you do, rotate them religiously!

Re: What wheels/tires

I just bought the goodyear silent armors, I can't speak to how they wear, but for AT's tirerack rated them VERY well (2nd or 3rd overall), and for the price (I actually bought the size you are looking for) you can't beat them....less than $190 installed and out the door!
I have to drive with the truck in neutral to hear the tires, they are very quite at highway speeds, handle well, and are actually rated as a 50k mile tire.
Also, if you are interested, I just posted pics. of my k20 with these tires installed....probably pretty close to a k10 with a 4" lift (you will probably be a bit taller).

Yeah, justincasey I like those teflons too, but I am a bit concerned about how they would look...but the smallest they come in is 17x8.5

Clean & simple works best for me (easier to clean, too) -- this one gets my vote

Re: What wheels/tires

any of the american racing black atx wheels look nice . the bfg km 2 is susposed to be a pretty good tire heard lots of goodthings about them . I had the bfg mud terrians on my little s 10 crew and that truck went everywhere i used them tires for about 40,000 miles and sold them and they ended up on my cusions truck and he is still runing them

Re: What wheels/tires

I'm also running a 4" lift and 33x12.50 tires on 15x10 rims. The wheels are Mickey Thompson Challengers. I went with these wheels because I wanted a retro look to the build. Unfortunately they are no longer available.

The centerline look with holes
I think, ouch, that the old chevys look kinda silly with the 'new' styles that are out nowa days..don't know why I feel that way..prolly cuz I see all thease lifted pavement pounders and towrigs lifted way up with big spendy wheels.. Our classic rigs don't need flashy wheels to make it look good.

Re: What wheels/tires

I like the MT with sim lock rings... but too many nooks and crannys to clean in and around! The ring sits off the wheel and you would have to clean in there and around the bolts.

imo

Re: What wheels/tires

I like these. They are 16x10 Eagles with 35" Pro Comps.I bought the tires for $425 and the rims for $250.I put them on my 71.I'm not a fan of the big rims.I think the 20s or so,or modern style rims don't belong on 67-72s,just my opinion though.

Re: What wheels/tires

I don`t like wheels, but they hold the tires on.Kinda like pigs feet, good for keeping the ham out of the mud. They put too many nooks ans crannies in wheels these days. That one in the center of the bottom row (MSGross picked out) looks nice if you squint.
