750 Holley Question

I have a 350 in my 71' C20, it's built up enough that the 600 cfm Holley is not big enough for it's performance capability. I prefer 4150/4160 series but, the Avenger 670 cfm is out of reach of my wallet. Have not found a good 650, with vacum secondaries, that will work.

My question is, can the Holley 750 (3310) be jetted back enough to work on my 350? I'm planing on building the engine up even more when extra money somehow arrrives and the 750 will be just the right size, but for now can I make it work as a "happy medium".

I ran a 3310 on a mild 355.......just went a couple # smaller on the primary jets. It didnt work out too bad,other than the idle circuit was a little on the "fat" side.

since the 750 cfm 3310 will only actually flow to the airflow requirements of the engine as it is a vacuuum secondary carb your OK. Ive run a ton of them on everything from 327's to 454's and have never had to go more than 2 jet sizes away from the factory setting. The secondary spring is more of a concern.. Make sure you install a quick change secondary spring set and spend a little timing tuning it for your engine.

On a mild 355, you shouldnt be too far off on the sec spring right out of the box. the stock spring is silver, & if you have low gears/loose converter the purple spring may give a little more power......if you want more milage, you might try the black spring(these are 1 step either way from box stock). In my case, I had 4.10 gears,& 2500 stall & used the purple spring.....

I agree with Mike the 3310 is a great universal carb. I run one (highly modded) on my 427 with great results. I say buy it and dial it in to what your 350 likes. Jetting down may not be nessasary, try it out of the box and see how it runs.
