Anyone use this 3 speed floor shifter?? PIC inside

Fouond this in the Jegs catalogue and also on Summit Racings site. Anyone here using this shifter or have you heard anything good/bad about them? It's made by Hurst and is made especially for 69 and up chevy trucks and 63 and up Ford models.

Had one on another truck I used to have, and it was great IMO. Never had a problem with it, and it was a major improvement over the column shifter. Makes the truck go faster too, hehe!!

Hey yellow, where did you buy yours? Is there a Canadian distributor that I could get one of these from? It's listed at Summit for $79.95, but after the exchange and shipping, it will be around $150 Canadian. I have a floor shift kit here, but it's made by Sparkomatic so you can image how eager I am to install that one
Thanks for the info guys

And Barn9, I could use the extra boost in speed If only boly on performance was that easy eh

i ordered mine from jegs. can't remember exactly how much it cost tho. it was around 75-79. wife threw out my cataloge. i can't wait to get it in. that big chrome stick poking out of the floor will look soooooo cool. and chrome always makes you go faster!! i also ordered a big chrome skull shift knob to be goofy! i don't know about a canadian disttributor tho. might check a big canadian tire. they have a cataologe you can buy that has all sorts of stuff in it. it's like 400 pages!! they can order in all that stuff, for a fee... i always ordered from the us. easier.

I got that one in the truck. Dad had someone install it when he made it a floor shifter. The throws are really short. It takes some time to get used to finding the gears too.

Thumbs up

That's (Hurst Indy) what I have in my truck. Like Barn9 stated, I Love it. Much better than the tree. Even with a bench seat. I will say that my wife and I are tall, so the seat is all the way back no matter who is driving. If the bench seat had to come all the way forward, I could see where this shift (any aftermarket) would have a clearance issue with the mounting brackets included in the kit.

But if you'r all above 5'9", then go for it. I got mine through Summit.

It's a great feeling bud!!! Slammed67's shifter is spoken for already, but I have a line on another one already . Sound slike this is the shifter to go with

Palf: I am 6' 1" and the wifey is 5' 7" so the seat will always be all the way back.

I just wish we had a summit dealer in Canada.

That's a good shifter; I put one in a 74 F*rd F100 that I had years ago after the column shifter came off in my hand when i hit 2nd gear; I hate it when that happens............

Hey dubie
They sell the same shifter at our local AutoZones and Advanced Auto Stores. I imagine some of the others probably do also. I think NAPA may carry it also.

The tabs ( the short L with the slots ) on these 2 brackets break if you don't get them mounted right. Tighten them to the trans first then adjust the shifter assembly. If they break the shifter throw will go from a few inches to a couple of feet.
