57 Chevy Truck wheel size
What is the largest, i.e. width and height tire that can be put on a 16" rim and still fit this truck in its stock configuration?

get your tape measure out and measure the wheel opening, side to side and depth then call your local tire store and ask. they should have the data on hand.

thanks, I tried all of the on-line tire companies and they don't list the largest if they list any. I searched the forum and no luck so I guess the tape measure is the way to go. I thought someone might have the info handy.

let me check on the size i had on mine. the fronts would rub slightly when turned all the way, but that was with ooooold springs on it (probably original springs)
they are mounted on 16x7 wheels with 0 offset:

well i'm out of town until sunday, but i'll get the size for you then. they are actually for sale, but they are 8-lug wheels.
