Just bought my Muncie!! Wahoo!! M20 Wide ratio..shifts really nice..came out of a '56 Chevy..supposedly a mid 60's Muncie. Looking for pics of the shifter with a bench seat...I know the 55-57 chevy car Shifter is supposed to work...but isn't the seat to tall for the shifter? Wouldin't I have to lean down to reach it? Anyhow..any pics of the shifter in our trucks would be great. THANKS!!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ok, I could not find the Hurst # on it. I really didn't wanna take it all the way off to look though either.... LOL. Now Look what you made me do, the first step to pulling my bastard engine, and installing the new one, is to pull the shift lever boot. LMAO. Here are the pics i have.

Also!!!! I have found these guys to know what they are talking about, and really helped me ID my M20, and answered questions I had about it.

my shifter is a hurst super shifter 3..but i used a stick from a 3 speed floor shifter and it looks exactly like racedvl's

You think that is a funny looking shifter, ever seen a 4 speed shifter in a 81-85 ford its a cross between a z and some weird s

mine has a hurst shifter and it looks exactly like the pic above. for some reason tho they didn't mount it in the center of the "hump" they mounted it a few inches to the left.

That is because they are attached to the side of the tranny. The tranny is right in the middle of the hump. Therefore the shifter would be to the left a little bit

If anyone can find the Hurst part number on that shifter pictured, I would really REALLY appreciate it...I am looking at the 55-57 shifter and it looks way too small...or it bends too far forward. Also how tall is that one that is pictured?? Thanks guys!!

Jefe, from the pic, it looks like the 55-57 shifter would work better with a V8 mounted in I6 position(that moves the shifter closer to the seat). I ran a hurst super speedway shifter in my truck, & wasnt afraid to pick up the welder & modify the handle,or make one from 3/8 x 1" flat stock. Hurst puts out several different handles, & most just bolt on to the top with 2 bolts. I cant help you with part#, as I picked up my shifter at a swap meet for $50........it was new, with only the reverse rod missing(came with a short straight handle). Good luck.....crazy AL

I found that one at a swap meet, I paid $15 for it, and I just took a chance with it. Works great! I can try later to get a part # off it, if I can find one. BTW, it's a 350 on V8 towers.
