1st post- Looking at purchasing my first Suburban tomorrow

Well this is my first post on this forum I have poked my head in hear for about the past year looking for trucks for sale. I have been looking for a Chevy pickup for a while in my budget within my capabilities of fixing up. I live in the Chicagoland area so finding a solid truck in my price range is difficult. I have been opening my eyes and options over the last few months and have begun finding myself liking vehicles I probably wouldn't have picked before. Just as I have begun slowing down my search a friend from work (who knows I have been searching for quite some time) asked me if he had told me about the suburban for sale. I replied uhh NO. He had my full attention. Oh yeah my friends cousin is selling his 71 Suburban he built as a tow vehicle to pull the custom harleys he had built to bike week. I can hardly wait till tomorrow night to see it. It is in my budget and it has been described as very clean. It is a 3/4 ton,it has been painted flat black, has OG interior said to be in good shape, recent rebuilt 454, and disc brakes up front. Sounds like it may be exactly what I have been waiting for. It has been parked for the last 3 years in storage. Crossing my finger and hoping this post doesn't jinx anything. Thanks for listening/reading to me blabber, I am just excited and nervous. I will post pics of my find good or bad. Thanks Stephen

Re: 1st post- Looking at purchasing my first Suburban tomorrow

Well if it sounds to good to be true it is. Maybe I had my hopes a little high but it was described quite a bit better than it is. Still a very good example and I may try to buy it just at a price I would feel more comfortable with. Biggest downfall for me was some rust holes along the rockers and doorsills. There was some previous filler work that wasn't a very good job. I just am not sure I have the skills to repair it myself. There are some positives to the truck that I will have to weigh into the mix. I didn't get really any good pics just a few with my phone I will post later.
