Re: ok need help

i would pick the one closest to completion. i know it sounds like a soft thing to do, but lets me realistic. once you have one done, and are driving it everyday, you know that in itself will be the inspiration to get the others wrapped up.

Re: ok need help

The Blazer strikes me as the one that could conceivably take less work, but not having any pix of any of them makes that statement iffy. The sub-to-tahoe conversion and the conversion to crew cab for the earlier style says both will take money and time. The Blazer (my opinion) is a rarer vehicle and you could make a 2WD out of it, take the top off, and have a reet roadster. Something about going topless.....

We need pics. I would say the blazer, but that is partly because I would like one myself.

Re: ok need help

Pick the one that takes the least amount of Body work and paint. If the suburban has the best body and decent paint. Sell the other projects and drive the heck out of the suburban. Later down the road when you get all the funds for shortening it and fresh paint, then take it down to shorten it. With the suburban you will never hear " We need a bigger vehicle to haul the family around in". Don't get me wrong, I love Blazers, but for longevity the Suburban survives the wife budget cuts and usability factor, without it looking like just a "play toy". But if the blazer is in better shape body wise, then go with that one. At the end of the day, the biggest outlay is paint and bodywork.

Re: ok need help

My vote would also be towards the Blazer restoration as it appears to be the one that could be done in a reasonable amount of time.

It may also depend on what the budget for each project is. You can probably do a lot work on the Burb conversion with the major expense being cut off disks and wire and gas for the welder.

Re: ok need help

I would do the one that would seem most rewarding to you to. My vote is for the blazer once again because you don't see so many of them and like chevloray said topless would be hot. there seems to be some pretty good rescources out there for them aswell. on top of that its something that you have some versatility in what you want to do with it and it will still look great!

Re: ok need help

That's an easy question - go with the Blazer - there is nothing cooler than yanking the top and crusing!

If you have kids, it is even an easier question - my youngest daughter always wants to take the Blazer when we go driving in the summer!

Re: ok need help

ok then leme give a little more info. I am a paint and body/ fab guy I have the tools to do just about anything. the blazer is my daily driver when I do that I am goin to do a full frame off. I have a sub that needs alot of work anyway. Now for the the 65. It was my firts truck/car and I have always wanted an extended cab. I have all the parts collected for it ie 2 cabs 6 doors a couple of frames extra hoods and a short bed.. the 65 was a driver too. I already have the small block build on a stand. and a 72 gmc parts truck.
