I picked up a jag rear end from picknpull last week and im thinking about putting it in my 59 stepside. I want to keep it in the cage and use the brackets to bolt it to my frame. Im not too sure what mods need to be done, has anyone put one in a pickup?

How wide is the jag rear end? And how strong are they? Will they hold up well to a 496 stroker? I've always wanted to do a irs but have always had issues keeping 10 and 12 bolt rear ends together with a big block. Trying a 9" now.

If I remember right, between 58 and 60 inches.

They use a Dana 44 center section. I am unsure if that would keep up with your big block. I know you can get larger axle shafts and run more heavy duty U-joints.

Thanks but I did some research and I don't think it will stay together. Would probably do well under a lighter foot but,,,,,,,,

I think if I do an IRS I'll have to go with franklin or winters. I've seen a few pantera Irs's behind high torque race engines but the pantera parts ar getting hard to find and were never reasonable in price.

Maybe I should just down size and keep my foot out of it.

I believe Kugel makes a Jaguar style IRS with a Ford 9" center section.

I got a bunch of parts from Speedway Motors. And I got new rotors and pads from the local parts store, as well as new U-joints.

The rotors and pads get pricey.

Its been a while since ive thought about it but Im planning on starting some mounting fabrication for the jag rear in its cage in my truck. I want to somehow use the radius arms but I dont know what I would do with the front bushing. It seems to pivot in a ball like bushing. Any other ways of using the original circle bushing?

I just pulled out of leafspring suspension and set the jag rear under the frame. It sits about 4 inches higher than in the front. Would it be strong enough to notch 3 out of the truck frame where the jag cage would tuck into, then box that section of the frame. Then after the frame is sitting at the desired height branch off 3"x3" square tubing that will arch over the sides of the jag utilizing the original mounting brackets, then tie that arch piece into the frame in front and behind the jag cage?
