cruise control transducer rebuild

Hello, I'm new to the site and have learned a lot from the threads. I have the dealer installed cruise master cruise control on one of my trucks and was wondering if anyone has any documentation on how to rebuild the transducer. I realize that I can buy a rebuilt one but I would like to try my hand at rebuilding the one that I have. !(TINKERING IS MY STRESS RELIEF)! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: cruise control transducer rebuild

I have an original CruiseMaster Systems Service Manual and the first 16 pages cover the system that is correct for our trucks (Non-Resume CruiseMaster). The book has very good troubleshooting and adjustment information but has a note at the end of the section that reads "If transducer repair is required, it must be performed by an authorized transducer repair facility as listed in the applicable AC-Delco repair bulletins."

I suspect that liability concerns prevented GM from widely publishing transducer repair information.

A speedometer shop may be able to open it up and troubleshoot/repair the transducer (you could probably look over their shoulder as they work on it too).

Thanks for the input, does anyone have a diagram of the inside of the transducer so that I know what correct looks like.

Re: cruise control transducer rebuild

Sorry to bring an old thread. But dies anybody have rebuild info?

Mine sometimes engages. Sometimes not. Sometimes holds. Sometimes of. Sometimes surges.

I'd like to rebuild it. But any extra info would be awesome. I already have the manual. E said above that does not hold rebuild info
