yunkyard score

I finally found a speedminder dash!
It even has the buzzer setup for it! Not sure if it works but who cares really ,as you just need to be able to say you have one on your truck. You options guys know what I mean.I got the dash out of a 1968 truck but the bezel was pretty wasted so I went to another truck and swap out bezels. Thats why the picture doesn't show the speed setting piece. Hey if I'm gonna spend $25 for a whole instrument panel then I want a useable bezel.LOL
Any idea on how many came with this option? Also anyone have a picture of one with the original knob as mine seems to be missing that piece .

Thumbs up

good score, congrats.
check with gmcpaul, he use to have the original knobs. they look like a valve stem cap on your wheels. i move mine over to the unused hole under the headlight switch and put a w/s wiper knob on them. mine are in my 72s so that hole is empty. there is a guy out here in calif that has/had several original knobs but he wanted 15 bucks each ,which in my opinion is robbery.

There is nothing like that around these junkyards. People who buy vehicles around here are too cheap to put options on their vehicles

Looks like a cap to a valve stem, is that the right knob for speed warning?

Solver. I live about 40 miles east of you. Will you tell me wher this yard is or are you going to keep it all to yourself?

Thanks for the knob pictures.
I see one of them is on a 69-72 bezel (no choke).
Was the speedminder available on all our years, or did you just drill hole for the speed setting knob?

Real

This cluster is a real one, just like it came out of the: 69 or 70 BB Suburban. I can't remember the exact year, but I bought the Sub with it in the dash...also had buckets, console, and a posi that was sold to a board member from Calif. I have the buzzer and harness on the back if anyone ever needs a pic of it too.

chevy2racr,
69s didn't have am/fm or cheyenne package, only am and CST. sounds like someone from california lied to him when he bought it.

Good catch Jerry, I didn't notice that, but you are right.
