My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home more pics added 7/15

I know, It took a while but here are a few pics. It took awhile to me to resize them. After seeing the truck in person, it is the cleanest truck I have ever seen. The paint is really dead and I think I'll be having it paint over winter. I was hoping to wait a few years and just drive it the way it is. I leave for work 15 minutes so I can only post a few pics. There were 2 build sheets, one under the seat back and one under the bottom. It even has the jack in the bag.

Very, Very nice! And I don't hate you.

There must be some kind of buffing material you can use to shine that up some so you can enjoy it for awhile without having to paint it.

Look and see if the original seat cover is under the added one, we stripped a 56 bel-air of three sets of covers to find decent originals at our shop, snapped through a lot of hog rings, but it was still there...also...NICE TRUCK

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home

I just got home from, so I'll be short. Thanks everybody(even the guys that hate me) for all the compliments. I'm not sure what my long turn plans are with the truck but I'm going to respect the 5oth. It is a radio delete truck, has the cover and no hole in the cowl. Isn't that a little strange when somebody ordered v8, auto, pb, ps, and a/c, but no radio. yes, the seat is brown, recovered in 2001. The build sheets are very brittle, I'm going to have to be very careful getting them out. It has the outside seatbelts, but when I removed the seat, no inside straps, bummer. The doors close like a new one, the doors even lock, all the glass is very clean, What little I drove it, it went straight down the road and I was very impressed with the power drum brakes. The stop with no pulling. I took the gas tank to be cleaned, the truck's been sitting for the last 4 years. I was thinking of putting a 2/4 drop with springs, what do you think? Anything that I do to it will easy to change back to original. EVERYTHING will be tagged and saved.

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home

One more question before I go to bed. To be honest with I wasn't even sure that they made a 50th stepside, although in the past year I had been watching for a short fleet 50th. In all the ads and market stuff from chevy, Is there pictures of a 50th stepside?????????

Glad you got it home man, and it does look awesome!!!!

I think Longhorn said this was either the first, or only a couple of pics he has actually ever seen of a stepside! Rare man great score!
