What are the PCB dimensions and how tall is the board with LED's and any circuitry you may have on the back?

Thanks in advance,

Kenneth

These are red LEDs. Most L.E.D.s are clear in appearance. But the the light they emitte is colored. This makes the actual LEDs very nice looking.

XXL the board is the maximum width and length possible to fit in the tail lense. About 8"X2 3/8" The back of the board is insulated but we do recomend you tape the exposed metal on the inside of the gasket with wide black tape. Just for a secondary insulation. Just to be safe.

Back-up inserts using ultra bright LEDs would be very costly due to the extremely high price of white LEDs. Also I don't think that the light emitted would project far anough to justify having for a safe back-up light. But we will be testing a prototype in the future. I recommend the AutoZone special here the Hyper White 1156. Or halogen 1156 bulbs

75.00 is for a pair.

The price will be know factor when you see these inserts in person. They are worth every penny. And we back our products 100% If you have a falure send the troubled insert back to us, and we'll send you a repaired or new one.

Hey Reumster, mine arrived in the mail box today. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship. Very nice. What's that blue material you put on the back of them to seal / insulate? I'm just curious.

Chad the ones I sent you are hand made inserts but they are similar to the production, just not quite as nice.

The material I use on my hand made stuff is plastic dip. I like the way it sets up, and seals. But the production boards will have a foam insulation of sorts. Plastic dipping takes alot of time. So it's not as good a choice for production.

Thanks for the kind words. As I've said, these are impressive peices of work.

Chad I still can't believe you guessed that movie so quick. Nice job.

I love mine...

Only thing I should note - and this is not a fault of the product, IMO - you might have to do some finagling with the connector since most of us are dealing with 30-some-odd year old sockets here. Make sure you've got a good ground to really get all the brightness out of these!

Thats a good point. I need a whole new wiring harness for my blazer. But to prolong and service your electrical conections, get some electric contact cleaner, and some die-electric grease. I use cotton ear swabs with the contact cleaner to get residue of the conections.

Also if you get LED inserts it would be a good time to replace the lense gaskets as well. Our inserts look best with the clear lenses, but they also look good in stock ones as well.

Dielectric grease wasn't even enough...I had to wrap the body of the one on the left side in foil to get a good ground!

And I do need new lenses...the passenger side cracked when I was reinstalling it...not badly but it did, and they're 33 years old anyway. Just gotta find time to run across town and get them...

The lights look impressive but I am wondering how do they mount in the housing and what holds them in.. ?

Apart from the phone number are there other ways to order them and do you take credit cards or money orders or what....

They fit against the sides, and top of the lense pretty closely. And the production inserts will have a foam backing, that will insulate and press against the back of the metal housing keeping the insert set in place, and from vibrating.

You can order from Randy @ the phone # on our web site, or by using the paypal shortcut. Randy accepts credit card over the phone, or buy from GMC Paul. The choice is yours.

GMC JUNKIE TOO

They will fit Suburban tail lenses with the use of a piece of thicker foam to keep the face of the led board firmly against the inside face of the lenses. If you notice on the Suburban Lenses they are the same mold as the truck lenses with a spacer piece if you will added to the origanal truck mold as one piece. If panels use the same lenses as suburbans they'll work for them as well.

Does anyone know how these work with "blue dots" that have already been installed in the taillights? I would assume that 1157's would work better, due to the fact that it's just one bulb located directly behind the bluedot. Does anyone make an intense high output 1157 bulb?

I haven't yet to try them with blue dots, so I can't honestly give you a answer.

But if custom is what you want I can make inserts that have a cluster of blue LEDs in them. But they won't be legal. I could even make inserts where you could turn off the blue LEDs seperate from the rest of the red ones. But it would be spendy.

Don't forget also that if more is always better for thous of you who can't just have standard. I can make hand made inserts with up to 480 LED per side. Caddy style. But I'm currently making a set for a guy now so it'd be a week or two before I could get started.
