4150 Original Mile K-20

I have been reading the forums here recently and thought I would share some photos of my most recent truck.

I have been collecting mainly pre-50's GMC's, but could not pass this truck up when it came available. It was a very rural northern, CA (Plumas) volunteer truck used less than 100 miles a year. I was told most of that was parades. It was in service until this year and the mileage is documented. I have not done much detailing on it yet but it sure is clean. I ran the date code on the tires and believe even they are original. The spare has never even been on the ground. The build sheet is behind the seat back and under the bottom spring as well.

WOW, that's great. You should get some of those flame rims that they used to sell years ago. Other than that I'd leave it alone.

That is incredible...what does someone have to pay for that? Did it get sold in an auction or what? Tell us the whole story!

Thanks for sharing the pics and welcome to the board!

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

This truck will stay just how it is as long as I own it. It runs perfect and drives well. Since it was a small dept they left it just how it was (lights, plates etc...)when they sold it to me. I am a member of the ATHS so I will show it this way. I will probably get collector plates on it so I can drive it. And make a set of canvas covers for the lights that say "out of service". It has a 250 gallon holding tank and a 2 cylinder Wisconsin gas engine that runs the pump. It runs perfect with probably only a few hours on it. It also has an electric winding hose that is pretty cool. I have yet to blow any water thru it- But I will.

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

The build sheet shows a few more like mirrors left and right. I need to get a better shot of it so It can be read. I don't want to remove it. The build sheets are on the passenger side and in amazing condition. If the seat were used more these would not have lasted like they did.

I had to pull up the door sill because one of the siren wires was sticking out a bit and i wanted to tuck it back in. The condition of the floors and matting is awesome to me. And the foam layer was still totally white.

I think I can safely say this is a rust free truck-

I have always secretly wished to find a fire department unloading a brush truck like you just did. Good find!

Smithsonian, that where it needs to be! Of course you would get well deserved pay-off... I would stand in front of it and marvel for a while. Darn!
