Body swap

So i just got a 69 k20 suburban and i have a guy giving me a c-20 pickup that has an a/c cab. so i was wondering can u put a truck cab and bed on the suburban frame with just bolting on the cab and bed mounts? the suburban has some good rust and the truck has little rust and has a wood bed.

Re: Body swap

I don't know about the body swap, but you could take the suburban suspension on the truck, I think that would be a little easier to do, especially if you do most of your work by yourself. I would think the burb frame would be different than the truck as far a body mounts and wheelbase. Good luck others will jump in and get you pointed in the right direction.

Re: Body swap

Moved to 4x4. Check out to see if there is difference in wheel bases first. You will need a high hump for the floor. Compare the frames from the cab back. It may be straight forward, maybe not. Maybe need some spacers or something to get things to line up. Cab forward should be alright. I always tell people to make sure you can get the distributor out before you bolt things down.
