69/72 first build

Recently purchased my first project which is a 69 body that has already been swapped to a 72 frame. Been in teardown mode for a couple months so I figured it was time to start a build thread. Here is what I've got done so far.Name: scan0001.jpg

Re: 69/72 first build

Here's a little list of some of my plans.

Early Classic 4-6 drop-purchased
383 stroker-block currently at machine shop
350 turbo-waiting to be rebuilt
Rear-open to suggestions???

Not much else decided on yet but I'll try to update as I go. Alot of this is new to me so there will probably be more questions than updates lol.

Re: 69/72 first build

Well it's been a year since I started this project and I figured it was time to post some updates. Doesn't feel like I've gotten much accomplished in the past year but just doing what time and money would permit. So far I've gotten the frame painted, installed the EC 4-6 drop, rebuilt the rear with a Eaton 3.73 posi unit, installed new stainless brake lines, and got the motor back together. Hopefully the tranny goes in this weekend and then it's on to the gas tank relocating. As soon as I get a chance I'll post some more pics. Can't figure out how from my phone.

Re: 69/72 first build

Finally got some pics posted. Here's the frame after I took it to work and "borrowed" the sandblaster and then tried painting for the first time.

Re: 69/72 first build

Thanks for the compliments guys. I know it's still a long way from finished but maybe I'll have some more pics before long. Hoping to get started on the cab as soon as work slows down for the winter.

Re: 69/72 first build

Wow....your project really looks good. I've got a very similar truck I started about 6 yrs ago that i'm just picking back up on. I'm curious if you had any problems with the one piece floor pan going in? Also, did you lift, lower or leave alone the height of the truck when doing the suspension?
