K20 to K10 driveshaft

I just swaped 1/2 ton axles into my 72 K20 and noticed that the 3/4 ton drivshaft is too short even when fully extended. Are my only options to get a new one built or find a 1/2 ton driveshaft? does it make a diference if the truck had NP205 of Dana t-case? Thanks

i think that you should be able to get your existing shaft lengthened. there are shops that specialize in those sorts of things

why did you put 1/2 ton axles in a 3/4 ton?I would have kept the 3/4 ones..

I get that question alot lol. I am doing a complete restoration on the truck, so it was all apart, I bought a new frame and it came with a nice set of 1/2 ton axles with 3.07 gears. I dont realy need to got with 3/4 ton drive train as thit will be a sumer only truck, probly wont see off road much either. Plus my 3/4 ton axles have 4.10 gears so they wont be as good on the highway and brake parts are more expensive. I still have my D44 and D60 axles and I plan on keeping them, might even swap them back in when i get the cash. Its hard building a truck when your only 17 lol
