should i or shouldnt i?

I was wondering about RAM air on my blazer??? i dont know if i should put it on it or not. It seems like it would be easy to do but i'm not really sure if i should.. i'm just thinkin on anything to get a little bit more HP out of the 2.8L. b/c i dont have enough money for a 305 or a 350 right now.. If anyone has any ideas let me know... thanks

what kind of ram air are you talking about? like a hood scoop? or dual ram air shorkel or what?

I'm not sure as to what kind that i want to do.. i was just thinkin in class one day about doing it but i didnt know what i should do.. i was just thinking about a homemade one or something. Nothing that i have to cut into the hood or anything.

Some more info, for you to ponder

Either way you do it, I dont think you notice much change in performance.
I have a stock 350 in my truck.
I didnt have a snorkle for along time (hot air intake)
Then I bought a new snorkle (outside air, with block off plate)
Then I cut the block-off plate out.
Everytime I made a change it didnt add enough power to even notice. The truck does seem to run a little smoother and cooler with outside air going into the intake.

Also It rained not too long ago here in Phoenix. It was the first chance I had to test and see if water would make it up to the carb with the block-off plate cut off. No water made it even close. I was driving at all kinds of speeds in all kinds of wind and rain. The farthest the water made it was 1/2 way up the snorkle, and that was just little drops. If you look straight into the duct, thats as far as it got.

ic... i was thinking of something running under neath.. but it was an idea.. but i'm not sure b/c i live in MI and we have everything rain snow all that crap.. i dont know what i should do

Seems loke you could just get another stock air cleaner and cut the snorkle off, drill another hole in yours and pop rivet it on. Run another intake assembly to other side of grill. Wa La ! Poor mans ram air !!

Hey! Don't go bashing 305's! Ok, so they aren't great, but that do get better gas mileage!

I had an 88 with a 305 5sp short wide and was pretty spunky.
Kick my self in my ars for ever selling it years ago. But with two kids a truck and a Subaru something had to go.
