NEED HELP: 6-lug Dana 60 wheel bearing & axle work

Placing this here instead of engine/drivetrain since this had 95+ members on, and E/D only has 6.

The rear axle bearing ate **** tonight (on my birthday, yippee ), definintaly the driver's side wheel bearing. With the wheel and drum off, and the truck in drive (opposite tire on the ground so it 'one wheel peels' on the jack stand) you can hear the grinding and crunching coming from the end of the axle tube, not the center chunk.

Question: Can this axle be pulled out with out messing with the differential? Are the bearings pressed onto the axle, or pressed into the axle tube?

Also, exactly what bearings does the semi-floating 6 lug D60 use? I keep hearing it's a rare bird, but I'm hoping that doesn't mean it's hard to find parts for...

Need some info ASAP, so I can get on it tomorrow.
