The large stud that comes off the axle housing on the new GM 12bolt is shorter than the one from the Dana 60 that just came off. The bar is lined up too far towards the rear of the truck to bolt up to the GM 12 bolt. What gives? Is there a different legth stud that can be found? Can't swap the studs between the axles, since the Dana's is thicker...

looks like you have a pretty good drop....why not make up a new bar and run it to the back of the trailing arm...?

Unfortunatly I don't have the time or money at the moment to get aftermarket stuff, nor the tools to build. Need to have it going ideally by monday..

What I'm asking is why don't factory parts bolt up? There's no way any bar will work (that's not kinked, and every aftermarket one I've seen in person is straight) since the bracket and rear end doesn't line up... The Dana had the panhard spaced further away from the axle and had no problem lining up, but the 12 bolt's panhard stud doesn't come out far enough..

Well that's all I need is that stud, a longer one like the Dana had and there's no problem. Even at this 3" drop, the pan hard is only off center by a 1/4 of an inch, and it's near level at ride height.

Are there different length studs from the factory? There's a junkyard near here with a few of these trucks, but curious if it's worth driving out.

DFWRIGHT- It's an option, just don't have the tools where the truck is at to chisel off the rivets and drill holes. Unless there's other holes in the frame? If I could move the whole bracket forward an inch or so, or rotate it..

Yes I believe the RTAS is the one you need to get this fixed. I don't know if there are different studs that came out from the factory or not though. Hopefully you can get it fixed!!

I want to keep an eye on this thread cause I am swapping over to a coil spring rear suspension with a D60 rearend. I am wondering if it the coil spring suspension with the D60 actually mounts the panyard bar back farther on the frame due to the fact that the stud is longer to clear the bigger dif cover?

that stud is longer to keep the panhard bar fron hitting the dif cover.On the Eaton ho52? the bar was longer and a bracket was welded to the axle tube and not to the center housing as in the 12 bolt and I guess the Dana 60.
