Project Daily Driver - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Well I am into the project pretty far, but it's never too late to start a thread. This is gonna be my 72 Cheyenne daily driver. It is a shortbox fleetside. Hopefully it will be primered soon. Have new box sides and a nice front clip, too. I am going with hugger orange and white two tone. Has a 70 402 with 65-67 396 heads. Turbo 400. 12 bolt with 3.08 posi(for mileage). Need to install the posi still. Have a set of buddy buckets to restore still, tach set up is ready to go, restored truck tilt, and then just need to buy a few misc parts, but it's on the downhill side now. The rocker is ready to go on, but I'll have to have my brother weld it since I'm back in school after spring break. Here's a few pics of the truck in its current state and some of the patches welded in.

Looks good! I have a 70 C10 and it is pretty much my daily driver.

No pictures, but the frame is completely done. Motor and tranny installed, new shocks intstalled, exhaust hooked up, and the body is about ready for priming. I will get some pics once I am home for summer vacation from college. I am very blessed to have parents that like to work for free.

Here's a few updated pics. Gonna order my wood box kit tomorrow. Forgot sealer, so thats why the interior is still in primer. Motor and tranny are ready to go. Will have more pics when more painting is done.

Here's a few from today. Getting close and I can't thank my parents enough for the time and work they've done on this pickup. A few things to do still are:

Put trim on
Paint tailgate
Redo Buddy Buckets
Finish Interior
Buy Wheels and Tires
Get glass installed

We do all of the work; paint, body, interior, assembly, etc. The only thing we don't do is machine work and differentials. Thanks for the compliments guys.

A few crappy cell pictures...

Had to take the fenders back off to do the door trim. The door color looks off because it hasn't been buffed yet like the box. The trim from Mar-K is TOP QUALITY!
