acceleration problem w/ turbo silverado

i have a rear mount turbo silverado 4.8. the problem i'm having is when i press the peddle down to accelerate. It almost seems like too much fuel is going to the engine and it slows down a lot. but if i have the car in park and accelerate the engine will run fine and the turbo spools. when i drive on the highway it'll run kind of smooth. but still trouble when i accelerate i have trouble w/ the engine wanting to do more, and the turbo doesn't want to build the pressure. does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

yeah i had it tuned the first night i got it back from the shop it ran like a champ, then my radiator started to leak so i had that changed. but ounce i had my shocks changed and took it for a spin it was acting up...i then took it back to the shop and the guys said the tune is still fine so i'm not sure what it could be.

Check the basics. Fuel pressure, secondary ignition, codes stored in the PCM.

How much boost are you running? What heat range spark plug are you running? Have you pulled the spark plugs and checked for melted electrodes?

Do you have a boost gauge? And a fuel pressure gauge is not a bad idea with a forced induction engine

psi is about 7-10 psi. will have to run fuel pressure i'm thinking it might be the fuel pressure regulator since it is stock but...i'll be sure to check the spark plugs again make sure they are still good.

Re: acceleration problem w/ turbo silverado

do you mean spark plug gap? i looked at them they looked fine. but i did notice something by my rear left side fuel enjector area. looks like it might be loose or it might have a crack in it. do you guys know if they get loose? because my firewall looked like it was sprayed. I'm hoping its an easy fix.

Re: acceleration problem w/ turbo silverado

Plug gap is important, could be blowing it out.
but sounds like you got more problems.

Re: acceleration problem w/ turbo silverado

so i pieced a lot of things together and i hope that i found out what might be the problem. i found some oil in the spark plugs, and underneath my BOV, and i narrowed it down to either fuel or air problem. so when my friend and i took off the tubing that connects to my mass air flow sensor. freak'n oil has been getting in there from the turbo. so now the truck is in work to go from rear mount turbo to front mount turbo, and getting a bigger turbo too. so we'll see how this turns out.
