New toy '71 4x4 1/2 ton

well here we go i got this truck last week. I gave $1400.00 for it the guy i bought it from said it didnt run but he didnt know why. It has a 350/350 turbo in it with a 4 inch lift and 33 inch super swampers but the body is in rough shape Let me know what you think?

Re: New toy '71 4x4 1/2 ton

I saw that on craigslist when this guy bought it and again when he re-listed it. You'll have to let us know why it doesn't run, I was always curious about buying it, but can't really afford it right now.

Re: New toy '71 4x4 1/2 ton

I want to know how the bumper got like that, looks like someone hooked a chain to it.

Have you tried Starting it?

And I think 1400 is a little to much for the shape and it not running. But could be something simple.

Re: New toy '71 4x4 1/2 ton

yeah guys i got it running and it was simple the wire that runs from the pos side of the battery to the block on the fender that and it needed a starter button thats all that was wrong with it. As far as not running the only thing that i hae to do to get it driving is fix the brakes cause theres a broke line.. It runs really good ive drove it around the farm but thats it so far.

Re: New toy '71 4x4 1/2 ton

well i have a problem i found while i was putting some different tires on the truck. The front axle on the drivers side the u-joint where the axle and the hub meet the part that goes in to the hub to the lock out is broke.. My question is will later model frontend parts work in the stock 71 front end??? Well if they will load up here are some update pics and a pic of whats broke..

Re: New toy '71 4x4 1/2 ton

What size are the boggers you're running and are they rubbing on the fenders at all? I like the look of the boggers compared to the swaper sx's.
