LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

Anyone with these? How do these work?

Do they just fit over the old stock dash, or do you have to pull all the old dash material off?

Thanks

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

I got mine from jc Whitney, but I believe they are about the same. They just slide over the existing pad. They are supposed to be glued down but I haven't done it yet.

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

So it would stick out a little more? How thick is it?

Looks good so I may have to bite the bullet since mine is all cracked.

Thanks guys. The one I got is fairly thin. It still seems reasonably durable though.

it's about 3/32"...I've installed a lot of them at my shop...just make sure that you clean the dash real good and take a scotchbrite to the inside of the dash cap...and follow the directions about the silicone...

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

ya mine has dabe of silicone on the backs and looks good enough for me. then again its a daily.. not a custom show truck lol but you might have to do some minor trimming to the existing dash and/or cover but it just slides on real nice

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

how do you guys like the quality of the cover? fit/finish... Ive been wanting to have a nice looking dash for some time and ive read good things about accu form covers, and there 100 bucks with free shipping on some websites... Im picky and since i will be installing it, if it looks bad, im gonna hate looking at it. Shipping it back probally will cost 20-30 bucks due to the size and I just dont want that kind of headache...

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

The one I got came from just dashes I think, and to be perfectly honest it fit like crap. The edges around the dash trim just didnt line up and it just doesnt look right too me, ohh and the holes for the passenger speaker were about six inches off. Im really picky when it comes to that kind of stuff. Either way it still looks a hell of a lot better than what it did before with all the cracks. If your looking for it to be perfect original looking then you wont care for it too much. The next time I do it I will just take it to an upholstery shop and have them leather wrap it. I have seen a few on here before and there is that guy down in texas that was doing them and selling them on craigslist. From what I have seen it looks way better and I dont think it costs that much more than that plastic cover. Just keep in mind that is just my opinion and doesnt make it right for everybody you might be happy with it.

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

apply around the edges only so it will allow the dash and cover to expand and retract.

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

I ordered an Accuform from J C Whitney this week. I will take some pics when I get it and as I go through the install (assuming I like it when I get it.)
Price was just under $100 with free shipping.

Re: LMC Molded Plastic Dash pad covers

you need to apply the silicone about an inch from the edges and around the vents....and like has been said don't put any in the middle, so the dash can expand and contract without buckling...
