Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Gear vendors overdrive unit. Currently in a 79 dually truck. Performs flawlessly. Rated up to 1200 HP. This one comes with the SM465 adapter, but you can get an adapter to fit nearly any trans or transfer case at www.gearvendors.com. Still in the truck so you can drive it if you are close by. Includes all wiring and electronic components to install. Driveshaft is also for sale if you plan on using in a long bed truck behind the SM465. $1500 plus $75 to crate and ship anywhere in the lower 48. Or buy the whole truck and drive it home with a strong rebuilt 454 and rebuilt front suspension for $3200. Thanks, Sharpie

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

sharpie,
I may be interested but I need some more info. What rear end gears are in it and what size tires? Trying to make sure it will work on the Burb and Gear vendors needs to know that info to make sure it won't bog down. Also how many miles are on it? any paperwork with it? Thanks!!
Shawn

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Tempting...that 454 and OD would go nice in my K30. I guess that is 2wd though, so I would need an adapter for my 205.

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Sharpie,
Thanks for the info. After speaking to gearvendors the adapter plus wiring harness (for automatic ) would cost approx 750 plus shipping. This is a good deal for someone that wants the engine/tranny setup like it is, or has a manual sm465 already. Thanks for the info though. Good luck!

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Shawn, no problem.
GC: I also have a 205 adapter that I could include instead of the SM465.

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Here's a Craigslist ad for adaptors. He has several and wants $75 for a TH400 adaptor, which is cheap IMO. Not mine, just thought it may help someone. http://sd.craigslist.org/pts/1767756858.html EDIT: My mistake, that was for a TH400 coupler.

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Yep, the whole truck. Apparently they love square bodied big blocks over there. I thought the guy was a scammer, but he rolled in from Denver with a stack of Benjamins. I've got another GV unit for the same money. It was behind a 205 case with an automatic. In good shape. Thanks, Sharpie

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

I was hoping to find one setup for a manual. I need to do some more research on hooking one up in my 67 and see about having a T221 adapter made.

Re: Gear Vendors overdrive complete setup

Yep, I'm trying to figure out what all i can attach to this T221, it already got the PTO mini transfer case attached to it so whats one more gearbox gonna hurt Lets see if i can't get 4 things to shift in this truck lol

But in all seriousness, i think the gearvendors unit would work great with the wide ratios in the SM420 and the torque of the 6 with the low rpms.
