Post What's a '72 swb super worth?- pics

Here are the pics, info below. I've got a rough idea, just wanted your opinion. The good- rockers, perfect side chrome, ps,pb,tilt, sb400, th350, a/c, reciever hitch, perfect grill, straight body, not much rust. The bad- cab corners are a little rusty, bottoms of doors a little rusty, seat cover torn, dash cut, doors cut for speakers, bumper chrome, paint, Engine taken apart, A little rust in floor, And the vin tag is gone. Was once stolen, but has a good title. How much?

Looking to sell or buy?

Looks like mine but different interior color. There is a guy here in Bel Aire that is trying to sell his Custom C10 350 for 3,500. It's not in bad shape and would make a good restoration project as well.

Well, if your looking for opinions, that's about a $900 dollar truck in that shape. Of course thats Lexington, KY pricing, and its just judging from the pics. Put the engine together and add $600 to $1100

I'm looking to buy it. I wish I could get it for 900, but I doubt it. I added up the value of the parts on it, useing what I've seen on the parts board as a guide, and they added up to about 2000.00. I wouldn't part it out, but that's what I'm going on.

I'm no expert but I'll throw my opinion in. It's hard to tell from pictures. If you can't drive it. I'll agree with you $2000.00 price range. When or if I buy another one, I'm not going to be to concerned about the drive train. The cab needs to be in GOOD shape. Very little rust. If the cab and body are good I guess it's worth (to me) no more than $2900.00. If confused read first three words again

It is worth what ever you are willing to pay.
I paid way too much for mine (according to some people), but I wanted it.
Have you offered anything for it yet? If not, figure the highest price that you are willing to pay, cut that price by 50% and make them that offer (if you're willing to pay $3000.....offer $1500, unless you think you can get it cheaper).
Ever truck is priced different in different areas. A truck that is worth $2000 in the rust belt might only be worth $500 in Texas or out west.

Actually in Tx, they go for more than they are worth.
Only thing it has going for it IMO is the fact that the body is fairly clean. The vin tag could be a HUGE headache, and like you said, it don't run. I agree with 900, but I'd say up to 1400 if it is as clean as you say. These things don't rust too bad down there do they?

Here in the rust belt of Pa. I could get 2500.00 dollars out of that truck easy.Short bed trucks with options bring a good buck and for the motor here in Pa. small blocks are still prety common.

Well, in the rust belt, yeah, it's worth some cash, but down south (where he is) it's not so odd to see these rigs in good shape.

Well, we were all too low. The truck sold today at a "dealers only" salvage auction in Little Rock, Arkansas. My top bid was $2925.00, and at least 3 people bid more than I did. It sold for $3150.00. Add the buyer's fees, and the grand total is about $3450.00. I wanted it, but I didn't want it that bad.

I'm amazed, It needs motor, paint, interior, had some rust and went for more than $1500 dollars. For real?? I would have a real hard time giving more than a grand.
