SCROLL DOWN FOR PICS AND QUESTIONS, THANKS!

I am swapping a 350 from a 1985 suburban k10 into a 1977 scottsdale c10. My big snag right now is that the harnesses are a little different. I am not sure which one I should use. Should I use the 1985 harness from the motor or the 1977 harness from the truck? Thanks

Use the one that matches the cab.

I am guessing the 77 didn't come with an electric choke on the carb, any way i can wire it up? I also have some extra plugs that I'm not sure where they go. One is circular with 1 blade (female end), the other is rectangular female end. Both leave the harness near the distributor. I will try and get some pics

Yes you can wire in an electric choke. Some pictures would be sweet I kinda got a few ideas but not completely sure without seeing them. Also gotta agree and say use the harness that goes with the truck your putting the motor in.

The round one with a flat female is probably oil pressure sending unit, and the rectangle looks like it goes to the same place.

Just got enough of it hooked up from just what I know to turn it over and start it up for 2 seconds. I will get pictures of what I am missing tomorrow when my wife has her digital camera here. Also on wiring in the electric choke is it as easy as just running a hot wire to the carb?

you dont want any wires or sensors, etc from the 85. use everything from the 77 on the 85 engine. sensors, brackets, everything. all you want from the 85 is the longblock. use the 85 tins.

What is the purpose of this thing? Can I run a wire off this to my electric choke?

What is this? It is coming off the firewall near the brake booster

No clue what this is, maybe for the temp gauge? There is no other wire for the temp gauge in the harness

I know this is for oil pressure gauge. I don't have a plug for one side but can I just get the sender for the other side and plug in there with no issues?

I am assuming that the high hose goes to the distributor, the middle one goes to the pcv and the low one goes to the transmission. Does the hose on the air cleaner go anywhere?

Is it ok to run this looking like this? Eventually I will get another one from autozone but I want to get it running and I might have to sell it as well.

There are 2 hoses that come off of the passenger side of the carb. One is plugged and the other one isn't but I don't know if I need them or what.

picture one: yes
picture three: that is for the temperature gauge, probably sits by number one cylinder on the drivers side.
picture four: someone put in that brass piece to run a wet oil pressure gauge, I would do the same.

Vacuum lines, I would make sure there is vacuum to the transmission, brake booster, distributor advance if you have it, and run one to the PVC, or into the air cleaner. Plug the rest.

Cool thanks, I actually found an autometer oil gauge in my donor burb so that explains that one.
