Oil pressure

I have a 87 with a manuel oil pressure gauge, Well the problem is it reads over 60 not running, more detail so maybe somebody can help me out, I unplugged it from the sending unit and when you turn the key on the gauge goes past 60 every time, manually turn it to 0....turn key to start, and it goes back to 60, now when I go under the hood at my plug in going to my switch it has a hot and a ground when the key is on, when off nothing, before anybody asks it is a new sending unit and I have 2 gauges still pegs out when key is turned on, any help would be great THANKX in advance.......
