Re: dash pad question

I put a dash pad out of a 78 in my friend's 86 Blazer. The instrument bezels are different, so we had to get one from the local junkyard. The Bezel we got had holes for the windshield wiper switch as well as the headlight switch. The Blazer had the w/w on the column. Also, the headlight switch was in the wrong spot. We drilled a new hole for the headlight switch and moved it down. We took some black plastic and filled the hole where the windshield wiper switch would have been on the bezel, and installed a toggle switch for the off-road lights. Lastly, the lower bezel, the part that goes beneath the steering wheel, was also different. Again we were able to get this part from the local junkyard.

In short: yes you can do it, but its a bit of a pain.
