Question Inner Fender Patch Panel

I have a 65 GMC and the Inner Fender is rusted on the front tip. I think it is a rather common area to rust.

There are companies that sell the entire Inner Fender, but I would prefer to just replace the end that is rusted.

Does anyone make a patch panel for the Inner Fender?

Thanks!!

Re: Inner Fender Patch Panel

there is no one who makes the front tip of the inner fender at this time.the best thing to do is to make a patch yourself and if it is beyond your skill level have someone in the body shop metal working trade to make one for you.most of the inner front fenders on the 60-66 trucks in my area are rusted out too in that area.the reason they all rust in that area is there is a small brace on the bottom side there that collects mud and dirt and is usually never washed out.

Re: Inner Fender Patch Panel

You can usually find a good one used with no rust for not much money. Saves time.

Re: Inner Fender Patch Panel

I appreicate the offer. I don't think I have to replace as much as you did so I will probably try and do it myself. My rust area is rather small.

How did you get such sharp edges? Did you form the piece on a brake?
