YOu know that expanding foam stuff you can get from hardware stores thats used for home insilation? I was wondering if it was possible to put that in the doors of my 79 truck as i want to deaden some of the sound and help keep the heat in better in the winter.

or would plain old pink insilation work better.

You need room for your windows to go up and down

. You can buy stuff that is basically the same as dynomat at most hardware stores. might try sticking that on the insides of doors and on floor/firewall etc. Will also quiet it down a lot.

It seems to me the foam would trap water in places. Maybe it wouldn't, but it just seems like it would.

How about if he rigged it up like some of the newer car doors? I remember pulling the panel off of my 92Skylark back when I had it and it had lots of insulation. It was all encased in a plastic bag looking deal. I remember thinking that it would in fact suck if any water got into that insulation but the plastic shell seemed to do a pretty decent job of keeping it watertight. The window slid up and down nicely too. I bet if you managed to tack that insulation up away from the workings of the window that it would work. Just a thought.
