vortec swap ????

ok here we go, i have a 97 4x4 blazer with a 5 speed trans. i am goin to do a sfa swap sometime in the spring. my question is about wanting to swap in a vortec 350 in to it as well. i would like to keep it a stock looking under the hood as i can, so i would like to run a 5.7 fron a 96-99ish pick-up or full size suv. but what would i need to do about the ecm? do i need one from a truck that has a 5 speed as well? does it have to be 4x4 too? any help would be great! thank you!

Re: vortec swap ????

You would need one from a 5 speed truck since those years are computer controlled transmission. I don't think you need to worry about the 4wd though, because I am pretty sure that the 4wd is controlled by a seperate computer.
