Aftermarket Cruise Control???

I want to add an aftermarket cruise control to my 70 GMC truck, 350 engine/4speed. What brand, type is best for our trucks. I have seen vacuum type and magnet pulse, which is more dependable and acurate?

It is 4-5 hours to the places I fish starting in spring and I need to be ready.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Aftermarket Cruise Control???

From what I have read, this is the best system.

Re: Aftermarket Cruise Control???

I bought an Audiovox system years ago. When you install it on a straight stick - which I had at the time - you can program the module to listen to the distributor. Since I was collecting parts to swap to a th350 I right away installed the magnet on the driveshaft and the receiver to listen to it. Parts to do both were in the box.

Since you got a 4-speed you could go with listening to the distributor.

I installed mine for the exact same reason. I don't have to drive 4-5 hours to fish in the land of 10,000 lakes but when I do have to drive to a tournament it sure is nice to have cruise.
