Next Question? Rochester Carb Replacement ?
Now that you all have educated me on the factory Rochester cfm rating...What carb do you suggest in replacing the factory carb with. My original carb 30years old plus is beyond rebuild. Engine is a 402BB with headers and mild cam.
Thanks Again, Dewayne 70cst

For the difference in cash,i would use a 750 edelbrock. They are also a very reliable carb.....got one on my 383.....69 longhorn.

Yeah, I'm going to do the same thing one of these days. I don't know if I'll go to the 750 (seems like a bit of overkill until I can get the large chambered heads and higher lifting cams), but I'm definitely going to a much larger intake and Edelbrock carb. Imagine what that will be like after having that little Rochester 2G with stock manifold! That truck is going to come alive.

I have a Edelbrock #1406 on my 350, and i like it alot. It gave me some more power, but i dropped a few MPG. I need to play with the jetting a little bit though. Overall, it is a big improvement over the Qjet i used to have on my truck. The 750cfm model should feed your big block just fine.
