1969 c/20 4x4 rebuild!

well it all started becouse i dont like any new trucks out (i bought a new ram, but thats another story) i get the bright idea that im going to build a crew cab 67-72 chevy truck style with a newer interior and motor combo. i thought bout it for a while. one time while we were hauling hay back to one of our farms in Iowa i start talking about it, and the farm hand says " i may have something you want". oh **** what did i get myself into  so we go into town and take a look at what he has. its a 1969 chevy c/20 4x4. its a factory 4x4 truck with a 350. someone took that out though and put in a 292 inline 6. (my cousin actually did it, had i known he owned it before i may not of bought it, dudes something else). they also took the factory front and rear end out, and transfer case, and replaced it with something else. what that is, im not sure yet. so we strike up a deal and i decide to haul it back. it has a factory spot light, alot of rust, and a utility box that isnt for the truck on it. i love it!

in the start i was going to use it as some of the parts for my cew cab build, but im just going to restore this one as it is. its kinda a rare deal, and i think i can use another truck...:rolleye: in the mean time i picked up another 69 chevy from a board member and im going to use it for parts on both builds.

i havnt had much free time to work on it but i decided to rip the box off of it today. not the smartest thing to do by yourself, but after a while i figured it out! i tied the truck to my dodge, and put a chain on the skid and pulled the box off after i cut it off of the brackets they welded it to. heres some pics of the truck.

thats the start of my bad idea here is when i lifted the box up

then i pulled the dodge forword with the chevy tied to it and victory was mine!!!

thats pretty much where im at currently. the trucks pretty decent to start. alot of rust, but its fixable. the interior has some ghetto bucket seats, but it has a tach dash, a 4 speed, and the frame seems to be a good start.

Yes. Rust free also. I thought it was a good pickup!
