Re: Late model bed install

Barry H, please let me know what you find out about the install if it's not through this thread. i was gonna post the same question but you beat me to the punch. I was thinking about a late model bed just so i can get my truck on the road a few times this summer until I start/finish my bed surgery which is pretty far down my to do list now. thanks

Re: Late model bed install

1badgmc (on the 88-98 page) has said that Choo-Choo customs was the company that had the kit to "shave" the rear step and add a roll pan. But, they're apparently no longer in the 'bidness of selling them.

Too bad, I'd be seriously into getting the stuff to do it to my '96. I do have a Sir Michael's steel roll pan, though....hanging on the wall in the garage. Nope, not gonna use it.

Still speaking my mind, tho. The wheel openings on the 88-98 trucks are not the same as the '67-72's. Joe McPherson did a seriously explicit restification on one of his trucks and used the later openings for his truck. Here's a pic. Sure it take a little hammer/dolly work and probably some plastic, but the end result is more appealing.
